April 6, 2021 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

The weather has been beautiful and quite warm today! We’re looking for warm weather again tomorrow, but clouds will start moving in. Those clouds look to start bringing us rain late Wednesday night through the weekend. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Saturday!

That blanket statement of rain occurring through the weekend does not mean it’s going to rain all the way through those three or four days. It just means there’s a chance of rain all the way through that time period. There will certainly be breaks from time to time, which is what will allow our temperatures to top out in the 70’s each day of the forecast. Here’s the outlook to indicate that:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear, low 48.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly cloudy, highs near 80.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy with a small chance of rain after midnight. Low 52.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy and windy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 77.
  • Friday-Partly to mostly sunny, a few showers and storms possible. High 75.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. High 74.

As it stands right now, a cold front and a dryline are coming together out in the Plains. So as we have sunny skies thanks to high pressure, it’s easy to tell what’s going to be the next thing that brings us rain. The resulting cold front goes through the Plains, creating chances of severe weather out there tomorrow. By midnight tomorrow night, that front should be approaching the Mississippi River.

From that point on, chances of rain and thunderstorms will be in the forecast. That cold front stalls about where it will be tomorrow night, just close enough to bring a few showers and a couple thunderstorms from time to time. It won’t be until a stronger cold front moves through Saturday night that we finally get things out of here for a bit.

So, with a cold front to our west, expect warm temperatures, some sunshine, and off-and-on showers and thunderstorms starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend. As mentioned above, it’s not going to rain all day any day late this week and into the weekend, but the chances are there. So be aware of that if you have plans this weekend. It’s not worth postponing anything just yet.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! Enjoy the warmer weather tomorrow!
