September 29, 2019 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

September 29, 2019

The heat wave continued this weekend, with both record highs being broken at Tri-Cities Airport for Saturday and Sunday! The heat continues for most of the week, but the end is in sight. Here’s the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for the next five days.

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, maybe some morning fog. Low 65.
  • Monday-Sunny and hot with a small chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs near 90.
  • Monday night-Partly cloudy. Low 65.
  • Tuesday-Mostly sunny with a small chance of rain. Highs near 90.
  • Wednesday-Sunny and hot. High 91.
  • Thursday-Sunny and hot. High 92.
  • Friday-Mostly sunny with a small chance of rain. Cooler, with highs near 80.

High pressure is continuing to bring us this heat wave, which has brought us numerous record highs in the past several days. That high pressure won’t budge through Wednesday.

By Thursday, that center of high pressure does start moving east, which will allow more warm air in from the south. That will also allow a cold front to approach, and it should move through Thursday night. From there, a cooler high pressure from Canada (where it’s snowing in spots right now) will change our weather into more fall-like conditions.

So for Friday, then, we may have a rain shower at times while the front is still close, but once it’s gone the sun returns. We’ll have highs 10 degrees cooler by the end of the day. It’ll still be a bit above average (which is to say, low 70’s by Friday), but thankfully a lot less above average…if that makes sense!

From there, another cold front moves through at some point next week, bringing another shot of cooler weather. And maybe, just maybe, by mid-month we’ll actually be able to comfortably enjoy the pumpkin spice stuff…if you like that kind of thing!

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! Hopefully now that I’m back to a somewhat normal schedule, I’ll be able to get a weather blog done just ahead of the weekend. I was recovering from Huntsville the Friday before my last two on-air for football, so things haven’t been normal for a while. I’ll be in studio every Friday in October for football, so a weekend outlook blog on Friday starts to become more likely!

Thanks for checking here for the forecast tonight. Have a great week!
