June 5, 2019 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

June 5, 2019

Up until late this afternoon, the weather was kind of depressing! It was cloudy and gloomy with rain for a lot of the day today. The sun is out right now, and things do feel better! Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

While it felt like a lot of rain today, it didn’t even amount to a quarter of an inch out at the airport through 5 PM. Thankfully, nothing we received was terribly heavy. As this blog is written, sunshine is helping dry things up. But there are still scattered storms off to our west that might make things interesting tonight. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms, mostly late. Low 65.
  • Thursday-Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs near 80.
  • Thursday night-More showers and thunderstorms scattered around. Low 65.
  • Friday-A cloudy day with off and on showers and storms. High 81.
  • Saturday-Mostly cloudy with rain and thunderstorms. High 82.
  • Sunday-Scattered showers and storms likely. High 82.

I tried my best to use different verbage in each section of the forecast, because we’re basically seeing the same thing each day and night through Sunday. While it won’t rain all day any day through the weekend, there is a good chance of rain happening each day.

It does look like the best chance of all-day rain (think most of today until 5 PM) will be on Friday. A cold front will move through, so that will increase chances of area-wide rain and storms.

Despite the fact that the cold front is going to move through, it won’t get too far away. So that’s why scattered storms are possible through the weekend. By the time we finish off Sunday, a new, stronger cold front will start to push everything out of the way. As it looks right now, it may take most of Monday to finally get rain out of here.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Thursday!
