July 13, 2018 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

July 13, 2018

There are some clouds hanging low around the area as we get close to noon on this Friday. There’s nothing on the radar as the sun goes in and out of those clouds, and that’s going to be the case for a lot of the time from here through at least early Sunday. Welcome to the Tri-Cites Weather Blog forecast through Tuesday!

Northeast Tennessee has temperatures in the low 80’s as of almost lunch time, with cooler areas up north and on the mountains, while warmer temperatures are happening near the Knoxville area. Suffice it to say that we’ve got a normal summer day on our hands! We’re going to get one more, maybe two, before we get some storms starting Sunday. Here’s the outlook:

  • Today-Partly to mostly sunny. Highs near 90.
  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, low 65.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny, maybe a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. High 91.
  • Saturday night-Partly cloudy. Low 67.
  • Sunday-Partly to mostly sunny, a few scattered afternoon showers and storms. High 90.
  • Monday-Partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 88.
  • Tuesday-Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. High 85.

Normal summer weather, as mentioned above, will continue through Saturday and early Sunday. It’ll be hot and humid, with a small chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Most people won’t get rain through Saturday, but it is possible, so keep an eye and ear out for those each afternoon today and tomorrow.

A cold front starts to move our direction by Sunday afternoon, and that will enhance our opportunities for rain and storms for the rest of the forecast. The best chances of rain for sure are Monday and Tuesday when the front is closest. It looks to potentially move through our area sometime Wednesday. We’ll see temperatures a few degrees cooler after that, with less humidity.

That’s it for this forecast! It’s a little early because I was up and in the office early. This, of course, means an early weekend is coming for me! Have a good one!
