December 3, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

December 3, 2017

Good evening, everyone! Lots of changes are coming this week in terms of weather, as we’ll have temperatures similar to January by the time we reach the end of the week, with low temperatures in the teens possible as well. Welcome to this week’s Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast!

If you’ve wondered where I’ve been, it’s been busy times in the weather office that doubles as a radio programming office and several other things. We’ve been preparing Christmas programming on 91.5 The Blessing WHCB, and that took a lot to get ready by Friday morning. It’s all good now, and hopefully you’ll listen in and enjoy the programs and music!

That said, let’s get to the outlook, which turns chilly in a few days:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy with some morning fog. Low 35.
  • Monday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 63.
  • Monday night-Partly to mostly cloudy. Lows near 40.
  • Tuesday-Mostly cloudy with rain likely. High 62.
  • Wednesday-Morning snow flurries, followed by a mix of clouds and sun. High 45.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy. High 43.
  • Friday-Cloudy with a few rain showers. High 42.

We’re going to see one more day of dry, calm weather before the changes start on Tuesday. So if you get a chance, get out on Monday and enjoy the temperatures above 60. We will get warm temperatures like that Tuesday, but there will be rain showers as a cold front pushes our way.

That front will move through Tuesday evening, and it’ll be the front of a large, cold air mass, the first of the season. We’ll see a chance for snow flurries Wednesday morning, and a dry but cool Thursday.

By the end of the week, another cold front arrives with a few more rain showers and another shot of cold air. In fact, Friday’s high around 42 might happen around midnight, with temperatures in the 30’s by the end of the afternoon.

By comparison, yesterday’s high was 63 degrees. It was a beautiful early December day. Early projections indicate that this coming Saturday will only warm up to around 35.

Big changes are certainly on the way, so it’s time to get out the cold weather gear to stay warm while outside! I’ll be back in a week’s time with a new forecast, as Cody Ray pinch hits for me on the air starting Tuesday morning. Have a great week!
