November 2, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

November 2, 2017

It’s been a cloudy day, but since the morning it’s been fairly dry. It’s an interesting forecast because clouds and warmer than normal temperatures are likely for much of the forecast, when that’s not normal during the day. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast through Monday!

What’s not normal about that is that clouds during the day typically keep temperatures low, then those clouds trap the warmth in at night.  A cold front is headed our way, and southwest winds ahead of that is what will keep things warmer. Here’s the outlook to put that into numbers:

  • Tonight-Mostly cloudy, maybe a few sprinkles. Low 53.
  • Friday-Cloudy with scattered showers/storms late. Highs near 70.
  • Friday night-Mostly cloudy with a few rain showers. Low 55.
  • Saturday-Mostly cloudy with a small chance of rain. High 71.
  • Sunday-Partly cloudy. High 77.
  • Monday-Increasing clouds with scattered showers late. High 75.

That cold front isn’t going to get all the way through our area, at least as it stands right now. It’ll get into southwest Virginia and then drift back north as a cold front Saturday.

As that front leaves, we’ll have a dry day for Sunday before a new cold front arrives late Monday. That front should bring us rain showers and maybe thunderstorms Monday night through at least Tuesday.

That’s all for now! I’ll have another forecast tomorrow afternoon before I head out for some playoff football. Have a great Friday!
