October 12, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

October 12, 2017

As we stretch into late Thursday, it’s warmer in the Tri-Cities than in the rest of the state! That’s not normal, but it’s thanks to stubborn clouds over Middle and West Tennessee while we see sunshine. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Monday!

It’s a sunny day here, but cloudy toward Nashville. That keeps us in the low 80’s and them in the mid 60’s this afternoon. Dry weather will stay in the forecast through most of Sunday, with similar temperatures. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy with morning fog in spots. Low 57.
  • Friday-Mostly sunny. High 82.
  • Friday night-Partly cloudy. Low 58.
  • Saturday-Mostly Sunny. High 82.
  • Sunday-Increasing clouds, rain showers developing late and overnight. High 80.
  • Monday-A few rain showers, becoming partly cloudy and cooler. High 65.

High pressure hangs around the Smokies tomorrow through early Sunday, bringing dry weather to all of us, except for a few stray rain showers tomorrow in the mountains near Boone, Newland and Jefferson. Otherwise, we’re going to see sunshine through the first half of the weekend.

A cold front moves our way during the day Sunday, bringing clouds with it and a decent chance of rain. Right now, it looks like the best rain chances will be Sunday night into early Monday as the front gets through here. Cooler weather moves in behind the front.

Then, next week gets dry again. If the latest models are to be believed (and sometimes they’re not), we might not see rain after Monday the 16th until the following Sunday! I’ll believe that when I see it, though.

I’ll have one more weekend update tomorrow, a little earlier in the afternoon. Have a great Friday!
