August 9, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

Today’s sunny day has panned out almost as scheduled! So it’s time to look forward to tomorrow, when rain showers return off-and-on through the weekend. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog Forecast for tonight through Sunday!

First and foremost, a lot of the rain and storms in the coming days will be scattered, and happen in different waves. So we’ll have dry weather and sunshine in between the rain for most of the next few days. It does look like we have a good chance for a dry day on Saturday. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, a small chance of rain. Low 64.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon. High 81.
  • Thursday night-Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low 65.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 84.
  • Saturday-Partly to mostly sunny with a slight chance of rain. High 85.
  • Sunday-Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 82.

I’ve made a few adjustments to the forecast, specifically when the rain starts (later tonight to most likely tomorrow morning), and a few temperature changes. A warm front that is left over from the last cold front that came through will return here Friday, and as it comes back north will increase our chances of rain and storms.

Once that passes, we won’t be too far ahead of a cold front. It’ll stall for a little while just to our west, so how close it gets will determine how much rain happens here. Saturday looks dry, with better chances of rain late and overnight through Sunday.

If there’s a good thing about this, it’s that temperatures won’t have a chance to go up too far. In fact, our average of 85 might not happen but once in the coming days, if even then. Overnight lows will be muggy as is normal this time of year.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Thursday!
