August 8, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

August 8, 2017

After a lot of rain yesterday, dry weather should be in place for at least tomorrow. More scattered showers and storms return after that. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

It’s cooler than average outside, with the Tri-Cities near 80, folks in the mountains near 70, and Knoxville area people feeling low 80s for temperatures today. We’ll be close to average with temperatures the rest of the week and into the weekend, with rain to come. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 59.
  • Wednesday-Mostly sunny, maybe a mountain rain shower. High 84.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy. A few rain showers late. Low 65.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly cloudy, with showers and storms scattered around. High 81.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. High 83.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny, only a small chance of rain in the afternoon. High 85.
  • Sunday-Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs near 80.

The cold front that just went through is hanging out across the South now. It will get almost to the Gulf Coast before stopping and returning north as a warm front. As it gets close to us, rain chances will go up.

Then, quick as it gets here, that front will wash out. So after a couple days of showers and storms to end the week on Thursday and Friday, Saturday looks dry right now, with only a small chance of rain.

A new cold front will slowly move in during the weekend, and that will bring a few showers and storms for Sunday, a day that might look a lot like Monday before it’s all over, with lots of scattered showers and cool temperatures.

That’s all for now, I’ll have another update tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday!
