August 7, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

August 7, 2017

It’s been a rainy and cool day, but the latest forecast includes some dry weather for the middle of the week. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

It’s cool out today, with nobody from Boone to Wise to Knoxville in the 80s today toward late afternoon. Clouds and occasional rain showers will keep us cool through tonight. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Clouds and fog, with occasional rain showers. Low 68.
  • Tuesday-Becoming partly cloudy after morning rain and fog. High 82.
  • Tuesday night-Partly cloudy. Low 58.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly sunny, only a small chance of rain. High 85.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy, a few scattered showers and storms possible. High 83.
  • Friday-Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. High 82.

Today’s weather is thanks to a low pressure near Nashville with a cold front attached to it. The whole system passes through here tonight, and we may have some leftover rain early in the morning.

Fog will be the big deal after the rain ends. Look for foggy conditions at any time while it’s raining and after, so through tomorrow morning be careful driving if you can’t see very well.

Eventually, we’ll see the sky clear out during the day tomorrow, at least long enough to qualify as partly cloudy at some point. After a cool night tomorrow night, Wednesday looks almost completely dry, with a small chance of rain.

Late in the week, that cold front will have stopped in the mid-South and started its way toward us once again. It will die out on Thursday, just before a new cold front approaches. With all of that will come a decent amount of instability, so a few scattered showers and storms are possible both Thursday and Friday.

I’ll have my first weekend outlook with my next forecast. Have a great Tuesday!
