July 30, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Weekly Forecast

July 30, 2017

After a hot week of vacation, one cold front caused much more comfortable temperatures around the Tri-Cities! We’ll stay near our average for this time of year as August begins, with rain chances resuming Wednesday. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

First of all, thanks to Cody Ray for handling the radio on-air forecast for me this past week. I didn’t go anywhere, but it was good to stay home a couple days last week and do nothing! I’m catching up a bit early in the week, which is not surprising for returning from a week off.

That said, it won’t be too terribly hot this week, with good chances of rain holding off until Thursday or Friday. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 56.
  • Monday-Mostly sunny. High 86.
  • Monday night-Partly cloudy. Lows near 60.
  • Tuesday-Mostly sunny. High 85.
  • Wednesday-Mostly sunny with a small chance of rain. High 85.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy with a small chance of rain. High 87.
  • Friday-Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 82.

After the past two days of sunshine and more comfortable weather, temperatures and humidity will slowly move up during the week. After near record lows tonight (record is 55 degrees, set in 1993), we’ll have sunshine and dry conditions at least through Tuesday.

The chances of afternoon showers and storms return on Wednesday and Thursday. A cold front comes in from the west late Thursday and moves through on Friday, and if that still happens we could see a day full of showers and storms on Friday with much cooler temperatures. In fact, it may be a carbon copy of this past Friday.

It’s good to be back and in the swing of things, with no more vacations until November as it stands right now. I’ll bring the latest forecast each afternoon (as possible) between 4 and 7 PM here to the blog, so keep checking here for the forecast. Have a great week!
