July 12, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

July 12, 2017

It’s a hot, sunny day outside, with another one possible tomorrow. It does look like tomorrow does hold a better chance of rain to cool us off, though. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Temperatures this afternoon are near 90 if not on that mark in most of northeast Tennessee as we move toward late afternoon. If you go up, it gets cooler, so in the mountains temperatures are in the low to mid 80’s. We’ll cool down a bit in the coming days as rain chances go up. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy with some patchy fog late. Low 67.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly sunny. Expect some showers and storms to pop up late in the day, but not everyone will get rain. Highs will again get to near 90.
  • Thursday night-A few evening showers or storms, otherwise partly cloudy. Low 68.
  • Friday-Mostly cloudy with some scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 87.
  • Saturday-Partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and storms possible. High 84.
  • Sunday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 87.

All of this revolves around whether or not the cold front that computer models say will pass through here actually does it. Right now, said computers have the front stalling out across South Carolina and Georgia. If that happens, we may see more showers and storms on Saturday…so the forecast change there reflects that possibility.

That said, once the front is gone, things will get a little less humid, but just as warm. The front is supposed to get through here Friday night, so the highs Friday and Sunday reflect similar temperatures, but the humidity will be a bit lower.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! Have a great Thursday!
