July 2, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Weekly Forecast

July 2, 2017

After a crazy week last week, it’s time to get settled in for a couple weeks of summer weather in the Tri-Cities! Here’s the story for the first five days of that in today’s Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast.

You’ll see “showers and thunderstorms” a lot, but as long as you see the word “scattered” in front of that, you’ll know that it won’t be an all-day thing. If you’ve lived around here for any length of time, you know what’s coming…summer weather! Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-A slight chance of rain early, then partly cloudy. Low 67.
  • Monday-Partly to mostly sunny, with scattered showers and storms popping up. High 87.
  • Monday night-Partly cloudy, a few evening showers possible. Low 67.
  • Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny, with a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. High 88.
  • Wednesday-Partly cloudy with a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High 87.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy with a few scattered afternoon showers and storms. High 86.
  • Friday-Mostly sunny, a slight chance of rain. High 84.

Basically, here’s the plan for most of this week. Mornings will be muggy with some patchy fog. Sunshine will filter through that and we’ll have clear skies into the afternoon. From there, some of the cumulus clouds will grow into cumulonimbus clouds and bring rain as “pop-up” thunderstorms. Some will get rain, others won’t. By evening, the setting sun will sap the fuel out of the storms and lead to muggy nights.

Friday looks almost completely dry and a little cooler. And there’s a chance of storms surviving the darkness and waking us up overnight as well. But for the most part, from 10 PM to noon storms shouldn’t be much of a problem for the most part this week.

I’ll have updates this week in the afternoons, with weekend forecasts starting on Tuesday. Have a great week!
