June 1, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

June 1, 2017

We’ve started off a new month ready for summer! That happens late this month officially, but the weather seems a lot like a summer day here in the Tri-Cities today. That will continue to be the case into the weekend as well. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast through Monday!

Outside late this afternoon, temperatures go from the low 70’s in the mountains to the low 80’s near Knoxville. Tri-Cities locations are close to 80, a fantastic day with a mix of sun and clouds. There are storms around, so be aware of that through the early evening. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy with a few showers and storms this evening. Low 57.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy to mostly sunny, maybe a couple storms late. high 84.
  • Friday night-Partly cloudy. Low 54.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny. High 85.
  • Sunday-Mostly sunny, with a small chance of a shower or thunderstorm late. High 86.
  • Monday-Cloudy with scattered showers and storms. High 82.

High pressure is going to move in basically on top of us in the coming days, helping to eliminate rain chances as we head into the weekend. As mentioned earlier though, be aware of a few showers and storms through the evening hours and maybe late tomorrow afternoon as well.

Saturday should be sunny and dry, with an outside chance of rain in the mountains. Sunday, after looking rather damp and stormy yesterday, no longer looks that way. In fact, some computer models keep the cold front to our west clear into Monday. We’ll see about that.

As it looks right now, a few showers and storms are possible late Sunday, but most of that will happen late in the afternoon or into the evening. Monday looks like a day with off-and-on rain showers as that front gets closer, regardless of whether it passes through the Tri-Cities during the day or overnight.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! While the weather is calm and dry, make sure to check out the Severe Weather Safety Rules page. Use that as a guide for where you should go when weather warnings happen, and make a plan today!
