May 30, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

May 30, 2017

Stormy conditions continue across parts of the Tri-Cities, but in a prelude to summer, not all of us are seeing rain. That seems to be a trend that will continue in the coming days of the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast!

Look for a few storms to move through tonight, but many of them will taper off later this evening as the sunlight goes away and the fuel for the storms to survive diminishes. It all resumes again tomorrow afternoon, though. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, mainly evening showers and thunderstorms. Lows near 60.
  • Wednesday-Partly cloudy with some mainly afternoon scattered showers and storms High 81.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy, a few evening showers and storms. Low 58.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly sunny, only a small chance of rain. Highs near 80.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy, a few afternoon showers and storms. High 82.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy early, with rain and storms moving in later on. High 83.
  • Sunday-Cloudy with rain and storms likely. High 82.

A cold front will move through tomorrow morning, and that will provide us with rain at any time of the day tomorrow. However, most of that activity will still happen in the afternoon thanks to a stationary front to the south of us, and those two will eventually join together.

Thursday does look like a less humid day with chances of rain mainly confined to the mountains. Then on Friday, more afternoon storms are possible for everyone. A new cold front brings up rain chances for Saturday afternoon and also for Sunday as it moves through.

It doesn’t look like any day in the near term (through Saturday) will see “all-day” rain. There is the chance for that on Sunday when the cold front arrives. I’ll have more on that in the coming days. Have a great Wednesday!
