May 26, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

May 26, 2017

Heading into the weekend, we’ll see dry weather, but there is a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms late in the day on Saturday, and a good chance of storms in general all the way through Memorial Day. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast through Monday!

Straight to the outlook we go…

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, a slight chance of rain. Low 58.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms especially in the afternoon. High 83.
  • Saturday night-Showers and storms likely, some could be severe. Low 63.
  • Sunday-Mostly cloudy with rain likely and some storms. Highs near 80.
  • Memorial Day-Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. Highs near 80.

With quiet weather today, we’ll skip straight to tomorrow. Much of the day will be dry, but there’s a chance of rain at any time of the day as well. The best chance of thunderstorms will be late in the afternoon and early tomorrow evening.

The best chance of any severe storms will be during that time frame as well, with the most likely threats being damaging winds and some hail. The tornado threat is NOT zero. So take a visit to the Severe Weather Safety Rules page on this sunny day to find out what to do if a tornado warning is announced for your area.

Most of what we’ll see is like we saw earlier this week. Strong storms with lots of wind, rain and lightning. So be aware of that as you’re out and about. This is true not only for Saturday, but for Sunday and Monday as well.

A cold front moves through on Monday, and that will eventually put an end to all of this early next week. But even on Memorial Day, scattered showers and storms are possible that may mess up outdoor plans. Stay weather aware this weekend, and you should be just fine!

Enjoy the weekend, and I’ll have a new forecast on Monday. If tornado warnings occur, I’ll be on WHCB 91.5 FM, Top Gun Radio 870 AM and 100.7 FM, as well as Love FM 1090 AM, 100.3 FM, and 97.3 FM live with updates throughout the storms. Otherwise, check updates here and on my Twitter, which you can see on the right side of the page.
