May 3, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

May 3, 2017

Today has been as close to a cloudless sky as I’ve seen in some time. I think we’re going to squeeze out one more dry day before rain starts moving in after sunset for most tomorrow evening. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Sunday!

Temperatures are comfortable today as well, with many of us at least in the upper 60’s, with 70’s across much of East Tennessee. That is not going to remain the case in the coming days, though. Check out the blackberry winter outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 52.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy, with a few showers and storms possible late. High 73.
  • Thursday night-Scattered showers and storms likely. Low 52.
  • Friday-Cloudy and cool with rain showers. High 58.
  • Saturday-Clouds and cool with scattered showers…mountain AM snow showers. High 60.
  • Sunday-Partly cloudy. High 63.

We’ll stay dry through most of the day tomorrow, before a cold front from out of Texas arrives. As it approaches, rain will increase late tomorrow afternoon for the western parts of the area, and then we’ll see showers and storms arrive Thursday night.

Clouds will hang around behind the front on Friday, as low pressure will bring cool temperatures, which sets us up for blackberry winter. We’ll likely not hit 60 on Friday, and maybe not on Saturday either.

Those clouds and rain showers depart by Sunday, so we’ll get some sunshine back in here. Look for highs Sunday to get up into the low 60’s once again.

Last weekend we hit 91 degrees…this weekend we won’t hit 60. That’s spring weather for you! If you enjoy cool weather, enjoy it! Otherwise, we’ll be back to warmer temperatures in a few days. Have a great Thursday!
