April 16, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Weekly Forecast

April 16, 2017

As I search to find a name for the Sunday night weekly forecast, I’m reminded on this Easter Sunday evening that it’s also the 10th cycle around the sun since the shootings at Virginia Tech. Someday I plan to go up there and take part in the remembrances of that day and the people who were lost. I’ve definitely thought about the Hokies a lot today.

That said, let’s get into the forecast. I’ll explain a little bit right after the outlook.

  • Tonight-Increasing clouds, scattered showers and storms late. Low 55.
  • Monday-Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 75.
  • Monday night-Rain showers likely. Low 55.
  • Tuesday-Mostly cloudy with off-and-on showers and storms. Highs near 70.
  • Wednesday-Mostly cloudy, a few showers and storms. High 74.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy, a few rain showers possible. High 80.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy, rain showers possible early. High 68.

That forecast does include a lot of rain, and we’re a bit behind average on the year so far, so we could use it. That said, it’s not going to be raining all day any day this week.

The best chance of a completely dry day, though, looks to be Thursday. Even then, there’s a small chance of rain and thunderstorms.

I’ll have more details each afternoon through Friday. Have a great week!
