April 13, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

April 13, 2017

Warm weather continues, and with it will come small chances of rain in the coming days. It’s not like summer just yet, but it’s going to feel like it for sure. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather blog forecast through Easter weekend!

As we go to the mid-afternoon hours, we’re already seeing temperatures in the mid 70’s. The Tri-Cities hitting 80 today is definitely within the realm of possibility today. There’s definitely a good chance of that each day through Sunday. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear to partly cloudy. Low 48.
  • Friday-Partly to mostly sunny, maybe a mountain shower or storm. Highs near 80.
  • Friday night-Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain. Low 48.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny. Highs near 80.
  • Easter Sunday-Increasing clouds, with a few afternoon showers and storms. Highs near 80.
  • Monday-Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 74.

An area of low pressure will eventually develop along a warm front just to our north tomorrow. That’s what may trigger a couple showers and storms, maybe in the mountains Friday, then possibly for any of us through Friday night and maybe even Saturday. It doesn’t look like a widespread rain event, or that it will last very long if it ends up as such.

Saturday does look like our best chance of a completely dry day. A cold front moves toward us on Sunday, and that will enhance our chances of rain and storms, mainly late in the day. The best chances of rain right now in the entire forecast looks to be Sunday night and into Monday, right as the cold front moves through here.

We’ll be 10-15 degrees above average for the entire forecast for afternoon highs through Sunday, with each day possibly arriving at the 80 degree mark. With the possibility of rain and storms Monday, temperature should be a bit cooler.

I’ll be out in this warmth tonight, as the Sullivan South Rebels play Volunteer in baseball. They’ll start the game at 7 tonight, with first pitch shortly before that on Top Gun Radio at 870 AM, 100.7 and 96.3 FM, and online by searching for WPWT on TuneIn. I hope you’ll tune in!
