March 28, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

March 28, 2017

A cold front has exited stage right during the day today, and dry days are ahead! Rain is coming late this week, but should clear out of here just in time for the weekend. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Sunday!

As usual, it’s warmest near Knoxville and coolest in the western North Carolina mountains as we approach the end of March. Our high for the day so far in the Tri-Cities is around 68 degrees, a full five degrees above average. We’re going to experience 70 degree warmth more often than not in the next five days! Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy, morning fog possible. Low 48.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 74.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy. Lows near 50.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly cloudy, a small chance of rain late. High 75.
  • Friday-Scattered showers and storms likely. Highs near 70.
  • Saturday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 68.
  • Sunday-Mostly sunny. High 72.

In an interesting twist, March came in like a lion and it looks like it might go out the same way. Rain chances are done until Friday, and then the rain might not be here until late in the day, right at the end of the month!

Between now and then, expect dry weather and afternoon temperatures in the mid 70’s both tomorrow and Thursday. There’s a small chance of rain mainly in western North Carolina late Thursday.

After the rainy day Friday, a cold front will clear everything out of here, just in time for the first weekend of April! It looks like we’ll have a good supply of sunshine for both Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Wednesday!
