March 27, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

March 27, 2017

The rain has stayed away for a good part of Monday so far, but we’re seeing it arrive in the form of some light rain in spots this afternoon. There are severe storms to our west that will bring rain, gusty winds, and maybe hail tonight. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

It’s warm everywhere, with the cool spot being the low 60’s in western North Carolina. Most of the rest of us are in the low 70’s, and the forecast includes at least 70 degrees for highs each day this week! Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low 54.
  • Tuesday-Mostly cloudy, more scattered showers and storms. Highs near 70.
  • Tuesday night-Mostly cloudy with a few rain showers. Lows near 50.
  • Wednesday-Partly cloudy. High 74.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly cloudy, rain possible late. High 74.
  • Friday-Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs near 70.

As mentioned previously, there are severe thunderstorms to our west, and watches are out for that in Middle Tennessee, north Alabama, and parts of Kentucky and Mississippi through the evening. Those storms won’t arrive until later tonight, and with the loss of sunlight should lose most of their potency. Some small hail and gusty winds are likely with those storms.

We’ll see off-and-on storms tomorrow as a cold front moves through, and then a couple rain showers tomorrow night. After that, we’ll see almost two days rain-free, until a new cold front starts to push rain showers in here late Thursday afternoon. Better chances of rain will be Thursday night and into Friday.

The good news is that the rain may be gone by the weekend! I’ll have more on that in the coming days. Have a great Tuesday!
