March 15, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

March 15, 2017

It feels a lot like January outside today, as winter is trying hard not to give up with five days to go until spring begins! Thankfully, this is the coldest weather we’ll see for a while as warmer weather is coming. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

First of all, a couple alerts for you. First, there’s a Freeze Warning for tonight through tomorrow, and there will likely be another one tomorrow night. We’ll have temperatures way below freezing for quite a while, which is the reason for that. On a related note, a Wind Chill Advisory is up for us tonight. Temperatures in the mid-teens with gusty winds is not a good combination!

Here’s the outlook for the next four days:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear and cold. Low 17. Likely single digits in the mountains.
  • Thursday-Mostly sunny. High 44.
  • Thursday night-Partly cloudy. Low 24.
  • Friday-Mostly cloudy with scattered afternoon rain showers. High 52.
  • Saturday-Mostly cloudy, with scattered rain showers. High 58.
  • Sunday-Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs near 50.

High pressure is moving in, and since that center of high pressure is from Canada, it’s brought cold air in. That will provide us one more cold night before we start warming up again.

A cold front starts to change our weather on Friday, as scattered rain showers begin during the afternoon. We will have better chances of rain Friday night, and declining chances of rain for early Saturday. Then we’ll clear out a bit for Sunday.

It’s looking chilly for baseball tomorrow, so we’ll see if the game is on. Keep listening to 870 AM, 100.7 FM, and 96.3 FM for all the latest on whether the season premiere of Sullivan South baseball happens tomorrow. If so, I’ll be on the air at 5 PM. Have a great evening!
