March 7, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

March 7, 2017

We have an interesting setup across Tennessee and Kentucky today, as the middle sections of both states are coming out of the rain late this afternoon. It’s just starting here, so scattered showers will be in play for this afternoon through tonight. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Despite the clouds, we reached a top temperature of 67 degrees before the rains came here in the Tri-Cities. The rain, and eventually the cold front, will shave some degrees off of that tonight. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Scattered showers, maybe a rumble of thunder. Lows near 40.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 63.
  • Wednesday night-Mostly clear. Lows near 30.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy. High 68.
  • Friday-Cloudy with scattered rain showers. High 57.
  • Saturday-Partly to mostly cloudy, some rain late. High 52.
  • Sunday-Mostly cloudy, rain/snow showers likely. Highs near 40.

So it won’t be the first cold front, but the second one that makes the big difference in the forecast. After tonight’s rain, we’ll warm up nicely into the upper 60’s by Thursday.

Rain starts to move in on Thursday evening, with scattered showers possible through Friday. We’ll get a little bit of a break, then rain will return on Saturday.

Temperatures start falling for sure after Saturday, then Saturday night we’ll be in range to get some snow showers. That will happen off and on through most of the day on Sunday. Although an inch of snow might be possible, the warmth of the ground may keep us from seeing that much pile up. And as always, the forecast might change. Stay tuned!
