March 1, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

March 1, 2017

It’s been a rough day in terms of severe thunderstorms, but that is all past us now! We’ll have a little rain and some thunder through tonight, then things will dry out for a while. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

First of all, with the front came the storms, and also a lot of rain. Our previous recorded record rainfall was 0.94 inches, set in 1991. As of the last update from the Tri-Cities Airport, we’ve received over an inch and a half of rain today. So that record is long gone!

We’ve had some fallen trees across the area, mostly in southwest Virginia today. I’m not aware of any injuries or much in the way of power outages at this time.

Due to all the weather coverage today, the blog will finish with the outlook. We’ll cool down and dry out behind the front, and we might not see much rain through the weekend.

  • Tonight-Cloudy, a few showers and thunderstorms. Low 37.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy and windy. High 52.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy. High 44.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny. High 52.
  • Sunday-Mostly sunny, highs near 60.

I’ll have more details on the weekend’s weather in my next forecast. Have a great Thursday!
