February 15, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

February 15, 2017

The rain is gone, and we’re going to replace it with dry weather for the next couple days! Temperatures near normal tomorrow will go above normal soon, too. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

It’s been chilly in the mountains, with temperatures in the upper 30’s in spots. Here in the Tri-Cities, we just missed 50 this afternoon by one degree at the airport, with Knoxville one degree above the 50 mark. Tomorrow will be clear and seasonably cool before we warm up for the weekend. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy to mostly clear. Low 24.
  • Thursday-Partly to mostly sunny. Highs near 50.
  • Thursday night-Mostly clear. Low 27.
  • Friday-Mostly sunny. High 61.
  • Saturday-Partly to mostly cloudy, with rain showers possible late. High 62.
  • Sunday-Partly cloudy in the afternoon after a few morning rain showers. High 62.

The short story on the next few days is that cold fronts just won’t get close to us tomorrow and Friday. That will keep things sunny and dry all the way through much of Saturday.

Then, we will see clouds increase throughout the day, with rain becoming a possibility during the afternoon on Saturday. Rain showers will be more likely Saturday night, then taper off on Sunday morning.

Again, we’ll spend significant time in the forecast above our average temperature for mid-February, with highs in the low 60’s and lows in the 30’s (maybe 40’s Saturday night). Our averages are right at 50 at the warmest point during the day, and 28 at the coldest. So again, warm weather is making winter feel less than its normal frustrating self.

I hope you enjoy Thursday…and the great weather that’s on its way! It’s still winter, so don’t let your snow guards down just yet!
