February 14, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

February 14, 2017

It’s been a cloudy day today, with rain starting to move in. We’ll see some rain showers tonight, followed by a change to or mix with snow tomorrow, before we dry out for a while. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Everyone’s pretty much hovering around 50 degrees this afternoon, a little bit cooler than expected thanks to those clouds. A rainfall deficit is building, so we do need rain to help keep us from having drought conditions continue from what we had last year. That is coming in the next day or so. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly cloudy with some rain showers. Low 37.
  • Wednesday-Mostly cloudy, with rain showers mixing with snow at times. High 47.
  • Wednesday night-Cloudy with snow flurries in the mountains. Low 25.
  • Thursday-Decreasing clouds. high 48.
  • Friday-Mostly sunny. Highs near 60.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy, a few rain showers in the afternoon. High 62.
  • Sunday-An early rain shower is possible, otherwise partly cloudy. Highs near 60.

Cold fronts from the north and the southwest will continue to bring rain to our area tonight and tomorrow. As temperatures cool thanks to the northern front actually moving through, some of that rain will change to snow. That will happen first in the mountains, and there’s evidence to believe that the worst to happen in the Tri-Cities will be a mix of rain and snow.

Regardless of all that, we’re not going to see too much snow accumulation. There may be an inch of snow in the mountains, and a few schools might close in anticipation of that. It shouldn’t be too much to handle.

Our weather dries out for much of the rest of the forecast, except for late Saturday into early Sunday, where we may see a few rain showers. What we will see is warmer than average temperatures for Friday and throughout the weekend.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Wednesday!
