February 13, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

February 13, 2017

What a gorgeous day! I can honestly say it’s been pretty close to your average mid-February day around our area. We’ll get things to cool off a bit after tomorrow, but we’ll be back to well above normal for the weekend. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through at least Friday!

Late this afternoon, we topped out at 52 degrees here in Blountville, with the morning low near 30. Considering our average is 49 and 28, that’s right at where we should be. Tomorrow adds a couple degrees before rain begins a cool down. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 24.
  • Tuesday-Increasing clouds, with a few late afternoon rain showers. High 54.
  • Tuesday night-Mostly cloudy with some rain showers. Low 38.
  • Wednesday-Mostly cloudy, light morning rain changes to light snow. High (in the morning) 48.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy. High 46.
  • Friday-Mostly Sunny. Highs near 60.

The weather pattern is pretty quiet around here for a little while, as low pressure gets organized in South Texas. A cold front northwest of here will be our next weather story as it starts to bring rain possibly before sunset Tuesday.

That front will breeze through here early Wednesday, and that’s what will bring temperatures down. Brisk northwest winds will drop us from our high of 48 (that will probably happen around midnight) into the 30’s by the end of the afternoon.

A cold night ensues, then a chilly, but dry, Thursday. We pop up to nearly 10 degrees above average for Friday, and we’ll see similar or warmer temperatures into the weekend.

As far as Saturday and Sunday are concerned, they look mostly dry. There is a small chance of rain showers late Saturday and into Saturday night, as it looks right now.

I’ll have an official first look at the forecast for the weekend soon. Have a great Tuesday!
