January 30, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

Sunshine arrived today, and the sky is way more clear than I thought it would be just after 5 PM. That will translate to a chilly night tonight, then temperatures warming up to above average for a few days. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

As usual, it’s colder in the mountains, and warmer near Knoxville. There’s not a thing surprising about that, except that we did get to 40 degrees here in the Tri-Cities today. Very nice, indeed. Our average is 46, so that’s not too bad right after snow showers moved through yesterday. Will we get more snow soon? Here’s the outlook for more on that:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear and cold. Low 25.
  • Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 58.
  • Tuesday night-Partly to mostly cloudy. Low 33.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly cloudy, a rain shower is possible late. High 55.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy. High 48.
  • Friday-Mostly cloudy, with a few scattered showers. High 44.

From the looks of it, we won’t see a lot in the way of rain or snow through Friday. Things do get interesting with a cold front coming this weekend, but we’ll get to that later this week.

Meanwhile, we’re going to have lows around average tonight, and highs well above that for tomorrow and Wednesday. We’ll cool down on Thursday thanks to a cold front, and then another one may skirt through here Friday, bringing along a chance of a few scattered showers that looks to be just a bit more likely than Wednesday.

Bottom line, it looks dry for the vast majority of the week, and we’ll stay with bearable temperatures for the next four days as well.

I’ll have the first look at the weekend tomorrow afternoon. Have a great Tuesday!
