January 19, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

January 19, 2017

As expected, a sunny start changed into a cloudy afternoon. Rain showers are on their way, and we’ll see good chances of rain this weekend as well as tonight. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast through Monday!

It’s been a reasonably warm day, with temperatures in the low 60’s in a large part of the area, with some folks as cool as the mid 50’s as of 5 PM. Our average high is 45 for this time of year, so we are well above that. In fact, our lows will be right at that mark in the coming days. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Rain likely, with a possible rumble of thunder. Low 47.
  • Friday-Cloudy with rain likely early, tapering off late in the day. High 65.
  • Friday night-Partly to mostly cloudy, a few showers. Low 46.
  • Saturday-Mostly cloudy, with rain and possible thunderstorms late. High 67.
  • Sunday-Rain likely with possible thunderstorms. High 65.
  • Monday-Mostly cloudy, scattered showers should continue. High 57.

We are definitely going to be helping with drought conditions in the coming days. There is a chance of two inches of rain for a lot of us over the next five days. That is definitely a good thing. We have a small precipitation deficit under half an inch for the year so far, but the deficit from last year is still having an effect on things, so more rain is definitely needed!

Best chances of rain through Monday are tonight, Saturday night, and Sunday. It looks like the last half of Friday and the first half of Saturday should be mostly dry, with only a few rain showers possible. Thunderstorms may be possible Saturday night through Sunday.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Friday!
