January 17, 2017 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

January 17, 2017

Rain, rain, rain. It’s been that way for much of the day, but it’s been mainly light so far. We have cold fronts aplenty as we look through the next five days, and off-and-on shots of rain throughout the period. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Amazingly, we haven’t dropped below 50 degrees (according to official observations at the Tri-Cities Airport) in at least three days! Our lows in the low 50’s the last few nights are five or so degrees above our average high for this time of year! Those are crazy stats to be sure, but the 50 streak should come to an end tonight, and definitely will tomorrow night. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-A few rain showers, otherwise mostly cloudy. Low 47.
  • Wednesday-Morning rain showers, becoming partly cloudy by afternoon, when temperatures will be in the upper 40’s. Morning high: 57.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy and dry. Low 34.
  • Thursday-Increasing clouds, with rain moving in late in the day. High 58.
  • Friday-Rain showers likely. High 63.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy. High 66.
  • Sunday-Cloudy and warm, with afternoon rain showers. High 69.

We’ll have a cold front move through here tonight, and by late morning it will take the rain with it. So we should dry out to some degree tomorrow afternoon into Thursday afternoon. By then, another front will threaten to bring us rain showers. Our best chance of rain will be Thursday night and into Friday.

As for the weekend, it looks to start dry, with rain showers moving in once again late Saturday night and into Sunday. Temperatures will stay above average this week, despite the cool down tomorrow. We’ll be back into the 60’s as early as Friday.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast. Have a great Wednesday!
