December 4, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

December 4, 2016

It’s December, and we’ve had December-like weather this weekend, especially today. More cold and rain is coming this week, and the temperature really drops starting Thursday. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for this week!

Straight to the outlook we go:

  • Tonight-Cloudy, with light rain or drizzle and fog. Lows near 40.
  • Monday-Mostly cloudy, a couple showers late. High 55.
  • Monday night-Cloudy with light rain showers. Low 45.
  • Tuesday-Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. High 58.
  • Wednesday-Partly to mostly cloudy, a small chance of rain. High 52.
  • Thursday-Mostly cloudy, with rain likely, snow showers late and in the mountains. High 44.
  • Friday-Partly to mostly cloudy and cold. Highs near 30.

Upper level low pressure is causing our current rainfall, with the closest surface low near Mobile late Sunday. A new low will move into the Gulf Coast area tomorrow, and that will bring a cold front north through our area late Tuesday.

That cold front will be weakened by a stronger front just behind it. That front comes through late Wednesday, and cold air comes rushing in behind it for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures Thursday will drop through the afternoon, leading to a quite cold Friday.

I’ll have another forecast coming up tomorrow afternoon. Have a great week!
