November 22, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

November 22, 2016

Temperatures have been near normal as we go through the afternoon hours, but rain is nowhere to be found in the Tri-Cities today. That may change, possibly as early as this time tomorrow. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Temperatures just before 3pm showed the warm spot, interestingly, as Boone. They were at 55 degrees, with most of us not far behind. The Virginia mountains held the cool spot, with Tazewell at 46. Even Knoxville is just a tick cooler than Boone at mid-afternoon. Here’s the outlook for the next five days:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear. Low 26.
  • Wednesday-Increasing clouds with a small chance of rain late. High 62.
  • Wednesday night-Mostly cloudy with some light rain showers. Low 46.
  • Thursday-Mostly cloudy, with a rain shower or two possible early. High 60.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy. High 62.
  • Saturday-Partly cloudy. Highs near 50.
  • Sunday-Mostly sunny. High 57.

We should stay dry for tonight and most of tomorrow, when a couple showers might reach western parts of the area before sunset. Scattered light rain showers will move through Wednesday night with a cold front, and may linger into Thursday morning.

The rest of Thursday should feature more clouds, then we’ll have a mix of clouds and sun on Friday. A cold front moves through late in the day, but it will be weak and dry.

As for the weekend, we should be dry, with highs in the low 50’s Saturday and upper 50’s Sunday.

Next week, a stronger cold front may make its way into our area, one that might actually help with the drought we’re facing. Looks like the best chances of rain at this early hour will be Tuesday night into Wednesday of next week. That’s seven days away, though, so rest assured that I’ll keep an eye on it. We definitely need the rain!

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great Wednesday!
