October 28, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

October 28, 2016

It’s been another beautiful, dry day in the Tri-Cities, with temperatures in the mid 70’s late this afternoon.  Today will be our coolest in the coming days, with no rain in sight possibly until November! Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Wednesday!

By the end of this forecast, the World Series will be over. It is my hope that the World Series is over by the end of this weekend. We’ll see how it goes Go Cubs Go!

Everyone in the area is within 10-12 degrees of each other this afternoon, with cooler air in the mountains in the upper 60’s, and warmer conditions near Knoxville, as it should be. High pressure will be around and eventually east of us, so warm weather will continue! Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear, some patchy fog overnight. Low 44.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny. Highs near 80 (the record is 79, so we might break it!)
  • Saturday night-Partly cloudy to mostly clear. Low 48.
  • Sunday-Partly to mostly sunny, high 78.
  • Monday-Mostly sunny, high 77.
  • Tuesday-Mostly sunny, high 79.
  • Wednesday-Mostly sunny. Highs near 80.

I’m watching a cold front northwest of us, and it will take its sweet time getting here. In fact, it won’t pass through until Sunday night, possibly early Monday morning. Even when it does, there won’t be a lot of rain with it when it arrives, if any. We might just have a few extra clouds on Sunday.

High pressure to our south will keep weather sunny and warm, 13-15 degrees above average for this time of year all the way through Wednesday. Winter is indeed coming, so while the warmth is here, make sure to get out there and enjoy it.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! I’ll be spending my evenings this weekend (except tonight, I’m on Abingdon football duty on WABN!) watching the Cubs hopefully use the home field advantage they’ve gained to finish off the World Series Sunday night. They have all of the next three games at Wrigley, with the series tied at 1 game apiece. Game 3 starts tonight just after 8 PM!

Meanwhile, tune in to our stations for football tonight! Abingdon plays at Tazewell tonight at 7:15, with kickoff at 7:30 on 103.3 FM and 1230 AM. Meanwhile, Top Gun Radio will feature the final game of the season for the Sullivan South Rebels, as they take on Volunteer in Colonial Heights for Senior Night. Coverage starts tonight on 100.7 FM at 7 PM, with kickoff at 7:30.

So it’s busy times tonight, I’d better go get ready for it. Have a great weekend, and Go Cubs, Falcons, Rebels and Vols!
