October 25, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

October 25, 2016

It’s the same old story, a dry October around our area. This one has definitely featured more dry days than normal, and it looks like that trend will continue most of the way between now and the weekend. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Sunday!

As the evening begins, temperatures are reasonably cool in the mountains, with folks in spots already into the upper 50’s on their way downward. Southwest Virginia is mostly in the 60’s, while the Tri-Cities is still holding on to 70 degrees, with a couple degrees added to that to our southwest. We’ll stay in the 70’s for highs in the coming days, despite a couple rain chances along the way. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Partly cloudy to mostly clear, with some frost in spots. Low 36.
  • Wednesday-A mainly sunny day. High 74.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy, low 45.
  • Thursday-Increasing clouds, with a few mainly afternoon rain showers. High 72.
  • Friday-Decreasing clouds. Highs near 70.
  • Saturday-Mostly sunny. High 77.
  • Sunday-Partly cloudy. A slight chance of rain. High 77.

I’m watching various fronts forming and then drying out or combining with other fronts in the next few days. All of that will be away from us, so we’ll stay dry through tomorrow.

A cold front will approach on Thursday, so look for clouds to increase through the day, with a few rain showers possible. It shouldn’t rain all day, though. After that, rain moves out and we’ll have two more dry days.

There is a chance that may extend to three, depending on the moisture coming with a cold front that will arrive Sunday evening. It looks mostly dry right now, hence the small chance of rain. There’s a good chance that all we’ll see from that front is a few more clouds.

The best chance of rain in the forecast appears to be late Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening…but again, we probably won’t see much in the way of rainfall even then.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! I’ll have another look at things tomorrow afternoon. Have a great Wednesday!
