October 17, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

October 17, 2016

It looks more and more like much cooler weather will arrive in our area just in time for the weekend. But before we get there, we should see fantastic weather all the way through Thursday. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

Late this afternoon, temperatures ranged from the upper 60’s in the mountains to near 80 in the Tri-Cities, and just a little above that toward Knoxville. By Friday none of us will be anywhere near that, but the next few days should top out well above 80 degrees in the Tri-Cities. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear, with some patchy morning fog. Low 51.
  • Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny. High 84.
  • Tuesday night-Partly cloudy, low 54.
  • Wednesday-Mostly sunny, high 85.
  • Thursday-Increasing clouds, with a few rain showers possible late. High 83.
  • Friday-Cloudy, with scattered rain showers, much cooler. High 64.

High pressure will continue mostly sunny weather for us through most of Thursday. We could see a few extra clouds tomorrow, but nothing should fall from said clouds until late Thursday.

Then, a cold front will approach our area, bringing in more and more clouds late in the day capable of bringing us some rain. The best chance of good rain falls Thursday night at this point, with Friday likely a cool, cloudy day with light rain or drizzle for a lot of the day.

By Saturday we’ll clear out, but colder weather will return in its place, as right now it appears we won’t see 60 degrees on Saturday, and we might be lucky to get that warm on Sunday, too!

Tomorrow afternoon, I’ll have my next forecast, and in it will be my first crack at what looks to be a cool weekend. We’ll definitely start feeling more like fall after the 20th, that’s for sure.

As always, you can hear my forecast on the following radio stations each day:

  • WHCB 91.5 FM (twice per hour most hours)
  • WPWT 870 AM and 100.7 FM (four times an hour each day, twice and hour evenings)
  • Love FM, WHGG 1090 AM and 100.3 FM (twice an hour, 7am to midnight)
  • WABN 1230 AM and 103.3 FM (once an hour 7am to 3pm, then twice an hour each evening)

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, and listening as well. Have a great Tuesday!
