October 11, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

October 11, 2016

It’s another sunny October day, and it looks like another one is coming before we get a cold front in here on Thursday. We’ll see if it has enough moisture to bring us rain, otherwise we might have to wait until Saturday. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through the weekend!

Late this afternoon, temperatures ranged from around 60 in Western North Carolina to 78 degrees near Oak Ridge. Most of us in the Tri-Cities were enjoying sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70’s. Things should stay about as warm in the coming days, with a drop off in temperatures possible this weekend. Here’s the outlook:

  • Tonight-Mostly clear, except for some early morning fog in spots. Lows near 40.
  • Wednesday-Mostly sunny. High 78.
  • Wednesday night-Partly cloudy, low 44.
  • Thursday-Partly cloudy, with a stray rain shower or two possible. High 75.
  • Friday-Partly cloudy, low 73.
  • Saturday-Mostly cloudy, with a couple scattered showers. High 66.
  • Sunday-Mostly cloudy, with a few scattered showers, mainly early. High 68.

A cold front that is causing a good amount of rain right now to our northwest, will attempt to bring us rain this weekend. However, there will be little moisture left with the front by the time it gets here, so we might not see much rain on Thursday as the front moves through. Keep in mind that there will be a chance of rain Thursday.

Friday should be mostly clear, and then a system comes out of Oklahoma and heads our way. That has a chance to keep us cloudy and cool, with light drizzle or light rain for much of the day. We’ll see how that plays out, but there is evidence to believe we might see some rain this weekend, and cooler temperatures.

I’ll have another update on that tomorrow afternoon in the next forecast. Have a great Wednesday!
