July 17, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

July 17, 2016

Get ready for a week of hot weather, and a few showers and storms in the coming days. A lot of us will stay dry in this week’s Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast!

A cold front is going to move through this week, likely Tuesday night. So ahead of that Monday night and Tuesday there might be a better chance of rain. After that, the heat is on. Here’s the outlook:

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 67.

Monday-Mostly sunny, a small chance of rain late. Highs near 90.

Monday night-Partly cloudy with a few showers and storms possible. Low 68.

Tuesday-Partly cloudy, a few scattered showers and storms during the day. High 88.

Wednesday-Partly to mostly sunny, maybe a pop-up mountain thunderstorm. Mostly dry, high 91.

Thursday-Mostly sunny, a small chance of a pop-up thunderstorm. Hot, with highs around 92.

Friday-Mostly sunny, with a small chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Hot, with highs around 93.

It’s definitely going to be more of a sunscreen week than an umbrella week, that’s for sure. Even Monday night and Tuesday, with somewhat higher chances of showers and thunderstorms, it is possible that someone won’t get rain even as the cold front moves through our area.

With lower chances of rain late this week also will be higher temperatures. We should be in the low 90’s the last three days of the week, maybe nudging into the mid 90’s by Friday. Be aware of that as you’re making plans, and if it has to happen outdoors, get it done early!

Thanks for checking here for the forecast! I’ll be out of the office this week, so my next forecast will be a week from tonight. Thanks ahead of time to my buddy Cody for helping out with the on-air forecasts in the coming days. Have a great week, everyone!
