June 13, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

June 13, 2016

It’s a typical summer day in the Tri-Cities, as we’ve flirted with 90 this afternoon at the airport, just missing by one. Lots of places in East Tennessee have indeed seen the 90 degree mark today, and it looks like we’ll at least be close to that a couple times the rest of this week. Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

Most storms are located near Knoxville, as a warm front lies just between us and them late on this Monday afternoon. It’ll move through tonight and make tomorrow even hotter, but more humid. Chances of storms go up tomorrow, but the best chance of rain is Wednesday. Here’s the outlook:

Tonight-Partly cloudy to mostly  clear. Low 54.

Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny, a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible in the mountains. High 92.

Tuesday night-Partly cloudy, maybe a rumble of thunder or a little rain in the higher elevations. Low 67.

Wednesday-Partly cloudy, with scattered showers and storms likely. High 87.

Thursday-Partly cloudy, some scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 89.

Friday-Partly cloudy and cooler, but still a few showers and storms will be around. Highs near 80.

Tuesday looks mostly dry and hot. Up in the North Carolina mountains we may have a pop-up shower or storm that might linger into the evening hours. As a cold front gets closer on Wednesday, everyone’s chances of showers and storms increase, and scattered storms will continue to bring rain to many of us on Thursday.

After the hot and humid weather for most of the week, a cold front moves through late Thursday. That will bring temperatures down as well as humidity levels for Friday. As it looks right now, the weekend appears dry for the most part. I’ll have more on that in the coming days.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great evening!
