May 8, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

May 8, 2016

It’s going to be another week with scattered chances of rain at times most days through Friday, but not with rain all day, so temperatures should stay warm. Here’s a short Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Friday!

We’ll have a warm front move through Tuesday morning, with a cold front to follow on Friday. That will provide us better chances of showers and storms mid to late week. Here’s the forecast:

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 54.

Monday-Mostly sunny, maybe a rain shower in Southwest Virginia. High 81.

Monday night-Partly cloudy, maybe a couple evening rain showers. Low 55.

Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny at times, with a few rain showers or storms possible late. High 83.

Wednesday-Partly cloudy, with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Highs near 80.

Thursday-More clouds, and a good chance of off-and-on showers and storms. Highs again near 80.

Friday-A few morning rain showers, partly cloudy by afternoon. High 72.

That cold front moving through Friday will cool us off heading into the weekend. As it looks right now, there could be rain showers Saturday night, but the days for the coming weekend look mostly dry. I’ll have more on that in the coming days this week.

I know for sure the forecast will be up earlier than usual tomorrow, because of Sullivan South baseball coverage. The same may happen Tuesday through Thursday as well, depending on whether the Rebels win or lose. Listen in on 870 AM and 100.7 FM as I’ll bring play-by-play action of Sullivan South vs. Sullivan East. We’ll be on the air Monday afternoon just before the first pitch at 5pm. We’ll be streaming the game on the Tune In app, look for WPWT or Top Gun Radio.

Thanks for checking here for the forecast, have a great week!
