April 29, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

April 29, 2016

The sun is out, but clouds are on their way. It looks like we’ll have a good chance of off-and-on showers and thunderstorms through most of this Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast. We’ll take a look at things for tonight through Tuesday!

As for right now, shortly before 3 PM, there are high clouds around, but it’s mainly a sunny day. Temperatures in the mountains are in the low to mid 70’s, with upper 70’s to close to 80 in Northeast Tennessee. We might push Tri-Cities areas a touch over 80 before the afternoon is over.

Clouds move in tonight, then showers and storms will be happening this weekend. Here’s the outlook:

Tonight-Mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and storms possible late. Low 53.

Saturday-A partly cloudy day, scattered showers and storms from time to time. High 80.

Saturday night-Partly to mostly cloudy, with some scattered showers and storms. Low near 60.

Sunday-Mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High 78.

Monday-Partly cloudy, a few morning rain showers. High 73.

Tuesday-Partly sunny, with a few rain showers or storms possible. High 72.

A cold front is west of here right now, and it should move through soon. That cold bring a couple showers and storms tonight, but the better chances of rain definitely happen this weekend.

Tomorrow, that front comes back north, this time as a warm front. So we’ll see rain and storms forming as it gets closer to us. We should have a good portion of Saturday dry, though, but rain is definitely possible, mainly during the afternoon. That warm front will get through our area Saturday night.

The warm front is attached to a new cold front that is currently in west Texas. That cold front will approach Sunday, so we’ll have a much better chance of showers and storms then.

Behind the front we should be mainly dry, but not completely. There’s still a small chance of rain Monday mainly in the morning, and during the day on Tuesday. But those two days look to be mostly dry at this point.

I’ll have another forecast coming up Sunday evening. Have a great weekend!
