April 15, 2016 #TriCitiesWx Forecast

April 15, 2016

As race week has progressed, the weather has gotten better and better. And for those of us who are sticking around after NASCAR and its fans are gone, we’ll still have fantastic mid-April weather! Welcome to the Tri-Cities Weather Blog forecast for tonight through Wednesday!

It’s still a little chilly in parts of the area, believe it or not. Late this afternoon, the western North Carolina mountains were still stuck below 60 degrees. Everyone else is well above that, from the mid to upper 60’s in Southwest Virginia to the 70-73 degree range on the Tennessee side of the line.

Our weather will warm up in the coming days, with sunshine at least through the daytime hours into Tuesday! Here’s the outlook:

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Low 38.

Saturday-Mostly sunny. High 74.

Saturday night-Partly cloudy. Lows near 40.

Sunday-Mostly sunny. High 77.

Monday-Mostly sunny, highs near 80.

Tuesday-Partly to mostly sunny, with a small chance of rain late. High 78.

Wednesday-Partly cloudy, a slight chance of rain. High 75.

High pressure is going to pretty much block anything that might come our way for quite a while. That will provide us with sunshine for quite a while as well. Low pressure to our south and a cold front to our west will either dissipate or hold their positions until a cold front finally gets here from the northwest late Tuesday.

Even with that front coming, all we’ll mainly see is an increase in clouds. There could be a couple rain showers late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, but that’s about it. Our next decent chance of rain enters the forecast a week from today!

So whatever you’re planning on doing this weekend, it will be wonderful to get outside! You’ll need sunscreen and some water to drink, but that’s it. So get out and enjoy it!

My next forecast will be up on Sunday evening. Have a great weekend!
